HELPING HANDS II

Following the
enormous contribution to cancer patients of the HELPING HANDS Concert event in
2006 where a total sum of 18.000 YTL was raised for the Help those with Cancer
Association, the organizers decided to follow up on that success with the
HELPING HANDS II piano recital which this time takes place at the newly built
luxurious and modern Culture and Convention Centre located at the METU North
Cyprus (Kalkanlı) Campus, at 20.00 hrs on Thursday, 21st February
2008.
The main sponsor
for this 2008 event is ALPET.
Fikri Toros and
Maka Borchashvili once again graciously offered their time and their talents to
raise money and awareness towards the activities of the Help those with Cancer
Association. The evenings event starts with a piano recital by Fikri Toros and
following the intermission, Maka Borchashvili will take the stage for her
recital of classical music. The intermission will be highlighted again with a
generous supply of complimentary Doluca wine by Ramadan Cemil Enterprises. The
evenings recital will feature works from composers such as Mozart, Chopin,
Beethoven, Schubert, U.C. Erkin and Liszt. The two performances will feature
pieces dedicated to the ongoing plight of those with cancer as well as provide
the audience with a variety of classical compositions in what promises to be a
very entertaining evening.
Well known
businessman, dedicated individual and musician Fikri Toros expressed how he was
inspired to take part in the HELPING HANDS II event:
I became highly
inspired when I listened to Mozarts two fantasies in C Minor and D Minor two
years ago in Vienna, and ever since wanted to play both of them in sequence and
dedicate them to the Cancer patients. I hope the audience will receive and share
these emotional moments with me.
This year the
targeted figure is 20.000 YTL and all proceeds from the recital will be donated
to the Help Those with Cancer Association. Tickets will be sold at 20YTL and
from the end of January can be obtained from Toros Companies Group, all Deniz
Plaza shops, the Help Those with Cancer Association and the TULIPS store. To
assist those having difficulties to get to the event, bus services will be
available from in front of the Ataturk Culture Centre in Lefkosa and the Bus
Terminal in Girne at 18.30.

2006 yılında
düzenlenen, Yardım Eden Eller organizasyonundan, Kanser Hastalarına Yardım
Derneği adına 18.000 YTL gelir elde edilmiştir.
Bu başarının ardından organizatörler Yardım Eden Eller II adı altında ikinci
bir organizasyona imza koymaya karar vermişlerdir. Bu kapsamda 21 Şubat Perşembe
tarihinde saat 20.00 de Ortadoğu Teknik Üniversitesi Kuzey Kıbrıs (Kalkanlı)
kampüsünde yer alan modern ve lüks Kültür ve Kongre merkezinde bir piyano
resitali düzenlenecektir.
Yardım Eden
Eller projesinin 2008 ana sponsorlüğünü ALPET üstlenmiştir.
Fikri Toros ve Maka Borchashvili bir kez daha Kanser Hastalarına Yardın
Derneğine duyarlılık göstermek ve gelir sağlamak üzere tüm yoğun çalışmalarına
rağmen büyük bir hevesle bugecede sahne almayı kabul etmişlerdir.
21 Şubat gecesi gerçekleştirecek olan etkinlik Fikri Torosun piyano resitali
ile başlayıp kısa bir aradan sonra Maka Borchashilinin klasik müzik resitali
ile devam edecektir.Verilen arada Ramadan Cemil İşletmelerinin katkılarıyle
Doluca sarapları izleyicilere ikram edilecektir. Resital boyunca Mozart, Chopin
ve Beeethoven gibi dünyaca ünlü sanatçılarının eserleri izleyicilerin beğenisine
sunulacaktır. Gecenin amacına uygun anlamlı klasik müzikle dolu bu gecede yer
alacak her iki performans kanser hastalığından dolayı ciddi ızdıraplar çekmiş
kişilere ithaf edilecektir.
Herkes tarafından tanınan işadamı, müzisyen, Fikri Toros Yardım Eden Eller
Projesinde nasıl yer aldığını kendi cümleleri ile anlatmıştır :
İki yıl önce Viyana'da Mozartın
büyüleyici ve ilham verici bulduğum C minör ve D minör
"Fantasia"' larını dinlediğimde, bu besteleri ardı ardına çalarak kanser hastalarına
ithaf etmeyi istedim. Ümit ediyorum ki gecenin sonunda
dinleyiciler de benim aldığım
hazzı ve duyguları paylaşacaklardır.
Bu yılki hedef 20.000 YTL olup elde edilen tüm
gelir Kanser Hastalarına Yardım Derneğine bağışlanacaktır. Biletler 20 YTL olup
tüm Toros Şirketlerinde ve Deniz Plazada Ocak sonu itibarıyle satışa
sunulacaktır. Geceye katılmakta yaşanabilecek herhangi bir güçlüğe karşı Lefkoşa
Aatatürk Kültür Merkezinden ve Girne otobüs terminalinden saat 18.30 da otobüs
kalkacaktır.

The two day theatre
show held in Lefkosa on the 4th & 5th of January realised a net profit of 665ytl
for the Association.

Geleneksel Bay Kuzey Kibris Yarismasi

On
the 6th September 2007, Mr North Cyprus was held at Jasmine Court Hotel. On
behalf of me, Raziye Kocaismail, chair person of The Cancer Association, and my
colleagues', we thank all of our sponsors for such a beautiful night and
especially to Bülent Günkut for organising this event every year for us.
Showing cancer in a different light, with this sort of
organisation gives us all great hope and a positive courage to carry on helping
those in need.
All monies raised, which was 5.000 sterling or 12,500 ytl,
was donated to our charity, and was used in many ways such as purchase of
medications and doctor's expenses.
The winner of
this year's competition was Ilke Basturk, a 19 year old university student, who
won 3,000 ytl, half of which he donated to the Association.
2nd place - Orkun Oranoğlu - 21 year old university
student.
3rd place - Ufuk katırcı - 20 year old university
student.
19 year old Serkan Salih 'Bay dostluk' (friendship) was
chosen and
20 year old Okan Eren
was given a Bay Jasmine Court medal.

Bu yıl XI.si düzenlenen Bay Kuzey Kıbrıs Yarışması yine Kanser
Hastalarına Yardım Derneği himayelerinde ve yine Sn. Bülent GÜNKUT'un
organizasyonlarıyla gerçekleşiyor.
Onbir yıldan beridir Bay Kuzey Kıbrıs yarısması ile kansere
başka bir görünüm kazandırmak bizleri dernek olarak hem gururlandırıyor, hem de
cesaretlendiriyor....
Bu yıl onbirincisi düzenlenen bu organızasyona katkı koyan tüm
sponsörlere, Sayın Bülent Günküt'a, halkımıza ve büyük
bir duyarlılık göstererek yarışmaya katılan tüm gençlerimize, her bir kanser

Uc Kadin - Live Theater Show
|
On Friday 4th and Saturday 5th January 2008 a live Theatre Show at the Lefkosa Beledeyi Tiyatrosu
was held.
The event went well with many people attending
and enjoying the performance. A net 665 ytl was raised for the Association

Ozmerhan Finans ve Yatirim Sirketi
|
Ozerhan Finans Company, this year came up with the
great idea of donating their promotion costs that go towards their employees.
The donation came to a wonderful 3,000ytl which was handed over to Raziye
Kocaismail by Ozlem Argun, Manager of the Company. They also gave out
"food bags" to thirty cancer patients in the Association. |

Raziye was delighted to say that every year
there are more and more strong Companies in the TRNC making more efforts to help
the Association and thanked all Companies for their hospitality.

Triathalon Federation
|
On Wednesday 19th September 2007 the Triathlon
Federation organised a bicycle race on behalf of the Association. Each
contestant paid 10 ytl to take part. Anyone who had no bike but wished to take
part were lent a bike by Cyprus Cycling. The event took place at 1800hrs and the
11.5 km course started at Ercan. Over 2,000 ytl was donated to the Association. |

Yakin Doğu College and
Primary School started a new campaign in October of this year. The aim of
their campaign was to get their friends and other students to be able to donate
1 ytl from their pocket money once a month towards our Help Those With Cancer
Association.
The
students came and got about 20 boxes from our Association and by collecting 1
ytl once a month YDU classes managed to collect 1,722 ytl which they have
donated to us already. This compaign will continue until the end of the
education year and the money that wıll be collected durıng these months will be
spent to help children with leukaemia and cancer.
We thank them on
behalf of our patients and families; we also especially thank the teachers who
are giving their awareness and time towards Cancer in the new generation. One of
the most ımportant aims of our association ıs awareness of the community about
cancer.
